5 Simple Steps To Presenting
/in Marketing, Storytelling/by Illumulus5 Simple Steps to Presenting
Most business presentations start with a generic boring problem we are all solving, tons of statistics that make no sense and an ending that we never get to because we have already tuned out due to sheer boredom.
We all love a great story!
So let’s tell a story instead of reciting a boring presentation. Great stories start with a dramatic change, showcases the good and bad, creates a hero and ends with a positive result.

Step 1. Start with an impactful world changing statement. This should be directed toward your audience to get their immediate attention.
This can be an image or craft your narrative to your audience verbally.
Step 2. Show there will be winners and losers from this statement. A powerful statistic showcasing losers and images of winners are the best.
Step 3. Tease them about the promised land. Don’t show your solution or product but focus on the benefits of the promise land
Step 4. Show them the tools to get to the promised land. This is part of your storytelling. This could be how you use your Jedi Master skillset or tools to defeat the dark side. With our example above, we showcase features of artificial intelligence used today to produce real-time results.
Step 5. Prove to them you are already leading others to the promised land. The most powerful method is a quote from a current client highlighting their success from your efforts.
